NaNoWriMo Day #6

Welcome to NaNoWriMo, Day 6!

Finally. The weekend! Let’s all try to put our busy weeks out of our minds and settle in for a fantastic, writing-filled weekend, okay?

Today’s inspiration:

Close the door. Write with no one looking over your shoulder. Don’t try to figure out what other people want to hear from you; figure out what you have to say. It’s the one and only thing you have to offer.
~ Barbara Kingsolver

Huh. Sounds kind of like singing in the shower, doesn’t it?

Snoopy seems to understand the quote perfectly:

Your random challenge word of the day is: swallowed

Has a charactered swallowed some pride? Perhaps poison? The possibilities are endless.

Oh, and in case you missed it, the NaNo Powers That Be have dared us:

Bring it on, Tavia!

Don’t forget to leave us a comment and let us know how you’re doing! And if you’ve managed to use any challenge words in a sentence, please share!

Happy Noveling! :-)

  1. Welcome Lily! 🙂

So nice to see you here!

Congratulations on your first NaNo. It sounds like it’s going pretty well! I’m playing catch up this weekend too. But first, coffee.

Glad Write or Die is helping!

  2. I’m nano’ing for the first time this year, having watched everyone else go through the process for a couple of years. First few days were fine, then work got in the way, so today I’m playing catch up. Write or Die is helping hugely, if only to establish that if I don’t know what the kamekaze button means, I need to trust my gut feeling that it’s probably not a good thing to press…
