News:

First off, Jamie Beckman’s response to the whole Jennifer Egan “derivative, banal stuff” comment fiasco is very well put.

Thanks Jamie! It’s always nice to see someone defending the chick it genre!

In other news, there’s some interesting yet kind of odd talk about a new chick lit sub genre called “Priv-lit.” Supposedly, the genre is all about women recovering from bad relationships and changing their lives. Among the titles in this genre are of course Elizabeth Gilbert’s Eat, Pray, Love.

That’s right! Chicks in a library! Here’s the article that goes with it.

Have a great weekend everyone! 🙂 Don’t forget to leave us a comment and let us know your thoughts on these articles.

And please, do share what you’re reading this weekend. I just got an iPad (thanks Mom!) and am using it to read As You Wish by the fabulously talented and lovely Gabi Stevens.

See you next week!
