Friday Writing Prompt

~ By Melina Kantor

Hi Everybody!

Happy Friday.

I thought we’d change things up this week with a writing prompt. As I mentioned, Missed Connections, by Sophie Blackall, is a wonderful source of writing inspiration.

So, I went to Craigslist and chose an actual missed connection (a woman looking for a man) to use as a writing prompt:

A little over a week ago, you came into my restaurant to order a milkshake. I noticed your flashcards and asked if you were a server. We talked at length about bartending and writing and the fact that you’re older than me. For the record, I don’t care. You should have sealed the deal.

If this is you, you’ll remember my name.

Anyone up for turning this into a scene?

Give it a shot. I dare you! And then come back here and let us know how it went. Brownie points to those who share their actual scenes.

Have fun! 🙂
