Hello Chick Lit Fans, and TGIF!
What a week it’s been. Storms, Halloween, and of course, NaNoWriMo.
Here are a few chick lit related stories that caught my eye this week:
1. Some people have been striving to redefine “chick lit” for a long time now. But chick lit written by an actual chick? Literally? Hmm.
2. Secondly, Sarah from Smart Bitches Trashy Books recently wrote a post called “Setting Dictating Sub-Genre.” She opened with an interesting question:
Here’s a strange question for you. Does a contemporary romance set in urban parts of England signal Chick Lit to you as a US (or outside-the-US) reader?
Thoughts?
Moving on. . .
So. Raise you’re hand if you’re participating in NaNoWriMo this year. If you are, don’t forget to follow us on Twitter. We’re posting a challenge word every day this month, and meeting up for word sprints. Tweet us and say hi!
