Hello Chick Lit Fans!
Today on the blog, we’re kicking off the weekend with a bit of news, a bit of fun, and some inspiration.
According to an article in the Huffington Post, chick lit is “growing up:”
In the past year, though, a different breed of chick lit has appeared with smarter writing and characters. It’s notable not just for the content, but also for what it says about women, and what they are willing to read in their leisure time.
Not sure about how I feel about the “smarter writing and characters” comment. And “willing to read?” I actually miss “classic” chick lit.
Then there was yet another article on the death of chick lit, this time in The Economist.
Put your photo on the cover of a romance novel! Come on. Try it! Leave a comment and let us know how it went.
(I found the comic here.)
See you next week! 🙂
