~ By Melina Kantor
If you’re like me, it’s hard to find the time and energy to write during the week. But sometimes, all it takes is one little spark to switch your brain back into writing mode and throw you back in to your WIP.
So here’s a little writing prompt for you that once worked extremely well for me when I was in a slump.
Write a scene / chapter / short story (whatever you’d like) in which your protagonist learns the following lesson:
“Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is knowing that a tomato doesn’t belong in a fruit salad.” ~ Miles Kington
(And please, don’t feel you have to take the quote literally – no need to mention actual tomatoes in your writing.)
If you give this a try, feel free share your successes and excerpts of your scenes in the comments.
Good luck and happy writing! 🙂
