Pitch Contest With Agent Scott Eagan

The Contemporary Romance Writers Chapter is thrilled to have agent Scott Eagan of The Greyhaus Agency here today to consider YOUR pitches as part of our series of pitch contests! Instructions on the pitch contest are down below. Before you pitch, please take a moment to read Scott’s post on submissions and what you look like “from the other side of the table.”

ABOUT SCOTT EAGAN

Scott draws on his extensive background in education, writing and literature to assist the writers at Greyhaus. He has a BA in English/Literature, a MA in Creative Writing and a MA in Literacy. Scott is also a writer (done mostly as a hobby) and is an active member of the Romance Writers of America. Outside of his work at the agency, he continues teaching writing on a part-time basis, works as a stay at home dad and continues to be active in community work including assisting the University of Puget Sound Alumni Program. Scott is also a USA Swimming Official so you can frequently find him on the deck of a pool. If not there, you can find him working with one daughter at the stables, or being a “dance mom” for his youngest daughter.

Greyhaus Literary Agency is actively acquiring print romance and women’s fiction. The agency looks at both Single Title and Series romance. Scott Eagan opened Greyhaus Literary Agency in 2003 with three goals in mind:

  • To remain a small agency focusing only on Romance and Women’s Fiction
  • To provide educational opportunities for writers in these genres and to make efforts to enhance the romance and women’s fiction genres.
  • To assist with increasing communications between the professional publishing community and the writers.

Being a small agency as well as being focused on a small number of genres allows me the chance to work closer with my writers as well as staying up with the every-changing trends in romance and women’s fiction.

Scott is also interested in educating writings. With that in mind, Scott Eagan is available for workshops, speaking engagements, working with writing contests and so forth.
