The 2018 Stiletto Contest is open and ready for your entry, but don’t wait too long to submit! The most popular categories are filling up, and you’ll be left out.
This year there are six categories in the Stiletto Contest. If you’re into contemporary romance, you’ll find your spot here.
Short / Novella was expanded this year to include novellas that are only 25,000 words. If your bread and butter is short, this is the category for you. Enter if you have a novel that is set from 1950 to the present that focuses primarily on the romantic relationship and is between 25,000 and 50,000 words in length.
Mid-length is the most popular category. Unfortunately, the category is now closed. Mark your calendar for next year so you can get your entry in early if you’re a mid-length author. These are novels that are set from 1950 to the present that focus primarily on the romantic relationship and are between 51,000 and 84,000 words in length.
Those of you who are in it for the long haul, don’t wait until the last minute. Just like your lengthy story, the list of entries in the Contemporary Long category is growingby the day. Jump on board if you’ve got a novel that is set from 1950 to the present that focuses primarily on the romantic relationship and is 85,000 or more words.
Are you reminiscing about your first love? When everything was new and fresh and innocent. Enter your Young Adult entry if it’s a novel in which young adult life is an integral part of the plot and is at least 40,000 words.
They say the best time of your life is when you’re a New Adult, right? You have newfound freedom and are figuring out who you are. Your whole life is ahead of you. It’s heady and exciting, and we’re waiting for your story! Enter here if new adult life is an integral part of the plot of your novel. Minimum 40,000 words.
Maybe you prefer something that’ll keep you up at night. A little fright to get your blood pumping! Bring on your novel with Suspense, Mystery, or thriller elements as an integral part of the plot and is at least 40,000 words.
We’re waiting for all of them! There are less than three weeks left to get your entries in. Your published novel is already out there, so send it over to us.
