Contemporary Romance Writers (CRW) announced a disaffiliation vote to members in a Member Newsletter on August 29, 2021.
Voting opened September 15, 2021, and closed September 30, 2021.
At the time of the vote, CRW had 230 eligible voting members. We needed 51% or 117 members in favor of disaffiliation to pass the vote.
155 total votes came in, with one vote being ineligible, leaving 154 eligible votes. 130 eligible members voted in favor of disaffiliation, and 24 eligible members voted against disaffiliation. 75 eligible members did not cast a vote.
CRW reported the vote results to RWA on October 1, 2021, and were removed from RWA affiliation as of October 30, 2021.
