Award-winning, veteran audiobook narrator-producer and author (as Karen Grey) Karen White takes your group through the process of determining why, when, and how to publish your books in the audio format. Whether it’s working with a publisher, an audiobook producer, or going DIY, Karen will lay out the pros and cons, giving you the tools to choose the best path for you.

Topics covered will include protecting your audiobook rights, casting, production basics, costs, distribution options, collaborating with narrators, insights about current trends, and marketing choices to be made before anyone presses record. This presentation aims to give authors an overview of how to meet listeners’ expectations and get your books into their ears.

About the Instructor:

Karen White has worked in the audiobook industry since 1998. As an award-winning narrator, she has more than 400 titles to her credit. Her company Home Cooked Books offers audiobook-specific promotional tours and review services. She served on the Audiobook Publishers’ Association’s Public Relations and Events committee for four years, taught a course for the UNC-W Creativity department on Topics in Digital publishing and served on the SAG-AFTEA Audiobook Steering Committee as Vice Chair for eight years. She also produces and directs audiobooks, working from her home base in coastal NC. She writes romantic comedies as Karen Grey.
