Story Bible Workshop

2024 August | Members Only

WHEN: August 1, 2024 – August 31, 2024 via GroupsIO

Course Description:

Do you lose track of what you write? Can’t remember what color car the criminal was driving in your romantic suspense? Forgot the name of the tavern the coach stopped at in book 2 of your Regency trilogy? Can’t remember the skill set of each of the six demons in your paranormal series?

Are you always searching back and forth through your draft or last book for this bit of detail or that? If you’re writing a series with shared characters and setting, or a complex novel with multiple characters, subplots, and setting details, take a trick from screen writers and create a Story Bible as you write.

In this workshop, we will look at a variety of analog and digital frameworks for creating your own unique Story Bible and then proceed step-by-step through the process of creating the documents needed to keep track of all those pesky story details in your current or planned WIP. By the end of the workshop you will have your own personalized Story Bible for your current or next story.

About the Instructor:

Born in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, Zara spends winters in New York where the streets hum with life, summers in the Maritimes where the sea can be cruel, and the rest of the year anywhere inspiration for tales of adventure, mystery, and romance are plentiful.

Swept off her feet by her own Indiana Jones, Zara has followed sheep and goats up and down mountainsides in Greece, Crete, and Italy, been stranded on the banks of the Rhine with no money and one chocolate bar, and while she has never been kidnapped, she has been abandoned on an island in the middle of the wilderness for longer than she wants to remember. Now she writes books for the romantic adventurer in us all.

A member of Romance Writers of America and Women’s Fiction Writers Association, Zara is a published author of both fiction and non-fiction. Her short stories have appeared in several anthologies, and have received awards from Women on Writing, Stone Thread Publishing, Tryst Literary Magazine, and Winning Writers. Her novels have placed first in the Pages from the Heart, Romance Through the Ages, and I Heart Indie contests, second in the Touch of Love contest, and InD’Tale Magazine’s Rone Awards, third in the Emma Merritt, 5th in the Fab5, and long-listed for the Mslexia Award for Fiction.
